About
Alison Books Kaufman, MS, RDN, LDN
Practice owner and registered dietitian nutritionist

I feel passionate about helping people improve their relationship with food and their bodies. People make choices about what to eat and when to eat it based on a combination of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, knowledge, and experiences. I help people make connections between these, so they will feel more choice and less guilt, more flexible with foods, more comfortable in their body, and less stressed about meals and snacks each day.

I have worked in the nutrition field since 2004, specializing in eating disorders since 2015. Prior starting my own practice in 2020, I provided nutrition counseling for eating disorders at Metrowest Nutrition & Therapy for five years. Prior to this, I was a program director at Jewish Family & Children's Service of Greater Boston for nine years. I also worked at Newton Wellesley Hospital as a dietetic intern and then as an inpatient dietitian, and at Boston University as the assistant director of the Sargent Choice Nutrition Center. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics and Master's degree in Nutrition Science, both at Boston University.

I love being outdoors hiking, walking my dog, or sitting on the porch reading. I also love playing with my kids especially when they school me in soccer or chess.
